Maybe less fireworks

Miles has been taking notes when he watches Road Runner cartoons.

Now Kevin wants a turn.

Wind up bomb used for playing Hot Potato. Probably still have it sitting in a box somewhere.

Miles can sell that idea to the Acme Company.

Kevin couldn’t figure out where the name came from, because there’s nothing on the box saying “********!” (Kevin can’t read.)

Deathmatch games probably have a market in that overlap between pro wrestling fans and board game geeks.

Not only can Kevin read, but four days ago we learned that his comprehension of the Armechanica prophecies exceeded what Miles had understood.

Seems to me there used to be a cereal called “Ka-Boom!” It described the sound of what happened after you ate it!!

That game could kill someone.

Okay, two things! First, how exactly do the firecrackers go off? And second, why would somebody in their right mind play something like that?!

I’d buy that game! Talk about a great present!

Based on how competitive some of my friends are, there is definitely incentive to win and not to lose if only for bragging rights for the rest of the evening

Some of us are old enough to remember the “Kaboom” Balloon Busting Game that came out in 1966. There are now apps with variations of Kaboom in their name (counting Kaboomz especially).

“Hoist with his own petard”, to coin a phrase.

It’s still a work in progress. The real money is in replacing the game pieces.

Several games have had the name Kaboom (or Ka-Boom). Atari 2600 had one that was a space invaders-type game where you had to catch bombs; 60 to go to the next level. There was a tower-building game in 2013 and a card game in 2014. My fave was the 1965 boardgame where you used an silly-looking machine to pump up a balloon. If the balloon popped (kaboom!), you lost. After a while, the balloons got expensive and there was parental concern about eye injury. Silly old parents.

That game “Operation” was kind of that way. I mean, you wouldn’t lose any fingers, but that buzzer always startled me and made me jump. I also liked the game “mousetrap,” though I mostly enjoyed the Rube Goldberg aspect of it and spent more time just building the trap than actually playing the game.

There’s already a game out there called Ka-Boom (or there was). I loved that game. Might want to check on copyright infringement.

This might be a game Bomberman would wanna play.
