When I was a kid we lived in a village cheek by jowl with a number of farms, including one that grazed dairy cattle like those pictured right across the fence from our backyard. A very calming, soothing, nostalgic image for me. Naturally we didn’t have to milk the cattle or pick up after them, though in walking across pastures to visit friends we encountered cow pies (as they were known) innumerable times and in innumerable states. Once dried out they made an economical substitute for Frisbees, though good for one toss only.

Cows for lawn care? Who’s going to milk them?

The neighbors ought to invest in garbage cans with raccoon-proof seals. Hopefully, the trash collectors will be able to open them.

Poor guy. Even the raccoons know his wife can’t cook.
