Break in the circuit.

All of the A.I.s are in Florida and the Carolinas fixing the trouble. The power companies are so good about helping others out.

It wouldn’t work anyway with Ben holding the can that way.

You have to keep the string tight without touching anything between the two cans. Even then it doesn’t work very well.

Why does nobody who draws this understand how it works?

Ahh, the old “dog-in-the-middle” hack… ☺

Wax the string with a candle and hold it taut. It works even better with a finishing nail tied to the string inside the can and in contact with the bottom of the can.
