A quick internet search led to an article on stanford.Edu; CRISPR is a DNA splicing technique copied from the way bacteria clone viral RNA into their own DNA to enable them to fight off those viruses. CRISPR is already FDA approved for curing sickle cell anemia.
CRISPR is characterized as being, fast, simple, and inexpensive; i.e. the existence a home kit is not much of a stretch.
crispr can only edit the gene of one cell at a time, you would normally use it to alter a gamete cell so that it can pass the gene copies on to its duplicates as the embryo develops

Don’t worry. I don’t he’ll ever get a chance to pass on his DNA.

I don’t think he should be messing with that stuff. He is most likely going to make a monstrous (ahem…) mistake.

I hope Monty stays away from mutations

Has Monty considered trying to get bitten by a radioactive spider instead?

Military AI allowing drones to select their own targets and gene splicing, it’s like we’re inviting disaster.

Monty is going to turn into something unnatural then the professor will suddenly turn up and Monty will go back in time and never buy the kit.

At least he read the quick-start guide. I know people who would just dive into it and whatever happens happens.

If he just wanted to alter his DNA all he had to do is get the COVID mRNA clot shot. It was probably free in places.

Considering what a farce mRNA vaccines were, he would be wise to desist.
