Sibling rivalry. The ampersand is jealous because the treble clef has a successful career in show business.

You could say they have an and-imosity towards each other. It all started at the beginning when treble brewed.

I remember learning to draw an ampersand in elementary and being so fascinated with it I drew it all over my workbooks. That and the five pointed star you can draw without lifting your pencil.

Luckily they rarely meet, given ampersands are afraid of staves

I’m not sure about that, Sally. Think of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Kander & Ebb, Lennon & McCartney. I think the treble clef & ampersand must be at least civil to one another.

How do the Treble Clef and Ampersand feel about …

… the cursive capital letters “S” and “G”?

When I write music I put a 7 for an eighth note rest and a 3 for a quarter note rest. It’s much easier

They hate each other? Why? I would think they could mostly keep out of each other’s way.

I can’t draw or read music. I play by ear. Not learning to read music is one of my biggest regrets.

I could never write the treble clef when transposing/arranging. Thank dog I switched to bassoon in the 7th grade.
