I had a neighbor like “The Puppetmaster.” She called me up to complain about my leaves falling onto her property. I answered, “So?” She never bothered me again.
Just mulch them folks. Just mulch them. Lawn health: Mulching leaves into your lawn can improve soil health, reduce weeds, and add nutrients to your lawn. Leaves contain nitrogen, which is an essential nutrient for healthy grass.
My neighbor and I have a huge leafy oak tree right on the line that divides our lots. The original lot owners are long dead; so nobody knows who planted it. The leaves are consensual.
When I lived in Utah, I hardly ever raked my own leaves. I lived on a canyon and the wind always blew in the downhill direction. So… I raked my uphill neighbor’s leaves and my downhill neighbor raked mine. I figured it’s a wash.
Our problem is leaves which blow off a tree. Our neighbor has a HUGE tree in their backyard. They did not plant it – they bought the house with it in place about 10 or so years ago. They wanted to get rid of the tree as they were/are afraid the tree would fall on their house. When the wife told me this I was about to say that we would chip in on it as we have problems with the tree (and are concerned about it falling on our garage and on our house) – but she told me (back when they bought it) that they were told it would cost US$25,000 to remove the tree – they don’t have that kind of money nor do we.
We keep our camper van at the top of the driveway as that is the only place for it. It costs us every year for our mechanic to pull the leaves – thin ones in width from their tree – which have fallen into the blower part of the engine out of same. When so many fall in that they kill the blower setup we have to replace same (3 times at least so far).
Our latest attempt to deal with this (first attempt we put screening over the blower opening between the hood and windshield) is a large water proof cover I sewed which covers the hood halfway down and the windshield halfway up with the idea that the leaves could not get in. THEY ARE STILL GETTING IN! Next step will be to make an additional piece which will cover the top of the current cover and go further up the windshield.

Legally he’s not required to. They’re “naturally occurring products” and therefore Jimbo has no responsibility. I had to advise my neighbor of this.

At the old home place, we had no trees. The neighbors leaves fell in our yard so we had to rake leaves.

Why rake? I take care of my leaves by mowing them with my mulching mower. Less work and the chewed up leaves are good fertilizer for the lawn.

If Jimbo’s apple tree had branches hanging over the fence would Corky have any problem with picking those apples for himself?
