I asked a Canadian animator in England that question when I was working there. He replied, “We give thanks that we’re not Americans!” “Oooh, I’ll get you for that!” I replied.
Great Aunts were our downfall. They would back the car out of the driveway, knock over the mailbox as the parental units were waving goodbye. Kids were then told to go out and fix the mailbox. Sure would have been easier in WNY in October.
Not a big turkey fan, but I do miss the conversations about how big everyone’s bird was. Some of the claims would put the old fishing stories to shame. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians. Thankful for our great northern neighbors. Couple of my favorites, besides Dave, Burton Cunnings (The Guess Who) & Ferguson Jenkins (Hall Of Fame Baseball Pitcher).

Actually, the earlier harvest is a good guess. And he should be drinking Moosehead.

4 Uncles, and I don’t remember ever having Thanksgiving with them, or their ranting on any occasion.

Can you believe I had to change the mm’s in Burton’s name for my post to be accepted. I was using a BANNED word.

I know it’s probably something I can Google, but there’s plenty of Canadians on here that it’s more fun to ask, than Google:
What’s traditionally served for your Thanksgiving? I know that like the US, it varies by region, and family tradition, but I’m curious! :)

Spacing the the turkeys also help. Our leftovers lasted almost as far as Chistmas.
