Yeah, but a cult with comfortable bean bag chairs, and no SATs at the end of the year.

I like how they hold back the reveal that she’s got the same necklace here.

Every school has that one unorthodox teacher and Mr. Pritchard is no exception.

Technically when one is in a cult, one is too confused from the brainwashing to realize one is in a cult.

So, it’s a cult when you agree how the others think and you also give money??

I wonder if the necklaces possess certain “powers”

1983-84 I had an English teacher that was a hippie…I wish I could remember her name…She had all the peace signs and posters in her classroom. She dressed like a hippie. I wasn’t doing to well in her class, mainly because I was shy, didn’t like to stand in front of the class for oral book reports. But she helped me with that. She would talk to me after class, encourage me. I passed her class with a B instead of a D. I loved to read, just hated getting in front of the class.

Hahaha! The first step is acceptance! Look at the similarities between them in the last panel.

If anything the special ed class is just a club.

There’s a succinct list of cult behavior and these guys don’t meet any of ’em.

-Leader has absolute authority without accountability-Zero tolerance of criticism or questions-Refusal to disclose finances-Creates fear of the outside world, usually with conspiracy and persecution of the cult-Former followers are always wrong for leaving because there’s no reason to leave.-Making followers feel they’re never “good enough”-Leader is always right.-Leader has exclusive access to truth that you cannot know.

If that list sounds a little familiar about a certain someone, yes.
