The rest of the world have long memories that rarely forgive acts from the past. Even Western countries like the UK and France keep their ancient pasts fresh in mind and act accordingly. In the U.S. our memory lasts about 3 to 5 weeks, as evidenced by our last election. Germany and Japan were business partners within 6 months of war’s end, Vietnam a partner now, and a U.S. president walked arm-in-arm with the leader of North Korea across their border. We are such a forgiving country. For cash.
