The band instructor was up on his metal stand conducting the band at halftime at the high school football game when suddenly a storm came up and he was struck by a bolt of lightning.
The ambulance rushed him to the local hospital and he survived with no serious injuries. The attending doctor said that he wasn’t surprised that he survived because he knew he was a poor conductor.

Yes, but if you get wood wet, you can burn all kinds of neat dendritic patterns in it with high voltage.
