I had cellulitis in my lower left leg once. It was swollen and red but I wasn’t worried. Everybody else was freaked out, though, so I took their advice and went to the emergency room. The hospital said it was a good thing I came in, too. Gave me a full-leg (FULL-leg) ultrasound, put me in a bed, IV antibiotics — I didn’t see any difference. Oh well, maybe it would have gotten worse otherwise. Three days later, my insurance wasn’t holding up and it was almost Thanksgiving, so they sent me home. I’m glad they didn’t go with teaching me how to do the IV on myself although that would have been interesting. Just more pills. Gradually cleared up. I’ve always wondered if it was just a matter of my body needing some time to mount an offensive defense.

Looks like she also has gout that’s causing one knee to be swollen. That happens to my dad sometimes.
