“Besides, I haven’t gotten a raise in 2 months. And putting the truck order away and prepping for inventory in less than a week aren’t worth prioritizing. Not to mention the work I started 2 months ago and never got around to finishing.”
Jake epitomizes one of my managers so much that I’d think he was based on him. At least I’m gradually getting the regular employees to ignore him and do the right jobs
When my boss retired my dad and I took over his accounting practice. Despite the fact that I was working for my dad (something I had actually also done back when I was in my early teens – but on a much lesser level of employment then). Other than I was expected to be at family dinners – I was not treated any differently than the other employee he had.

Tune in tomorrow when Mr.Rod says to Baldo “Jake didn’t do this yesterday, so YOU have to do it today, plus all the other work I asked you to do.”
And that’s how Baldo learned that the punishment for being a hard working employee is more work.

Weirdly, this is how procrastination works: The bigger the job, the stronger the procrastination.
