I read about an interesting experiment with colors once. People were shown a color square and asked to identify the different colors. After everybody had done that, the color of the lights was changed so that the light reflected from the white square was the same as had been from a blue square previously. People were then shown another color square with the colors in a different order, and they were still able to identify the colors, including identifying the white square as white, and not blue.
I have a bag which is a soft, dark blue color and some people call it green. I have a cycling jacket that is literally labeled “yelling yellow” and some people call it green.
This is why I don’t want to correct my color blindness. What if my perception of color is very different from what is considered normal? Everything would look strange.
