The new Xmas tradition, a run to the recycle station on Saturday as it’s too much for the can.

Whew, for a minute there I thought Hammie was getting even with Zoe for boxing him up and was practicing on all her dolls.

But he fought with expert timing

There were funky Box men from funky Box town

He were chopping them up, he were chopping them down

It’s an ancient Chinese art, and Hammie knew their part

From a feint into a slip and a kicking from the hip

In fact, it was a little bit frightening (hey, yeah)

But he fought with expert timing

There was funky Zoe Chin, and little Wren Chung

He said, “Here comes the big boss, let’s get it on”

We took a bow and made a stand, started swaying with the hand

A sudden motion made me skip, now we’re into a brand-new trip

Come next year, they may wish they still had some of those boxes so they wouldn’t have to buy new ones. I always try to save a few such boxes for birthday gifts, too.

and here I thought he was “playing” with his toys!

When he graduates to bricks he’d be dangerous.

That’s one way of doing it.

Those gift boxes could have been reused!

This is my husband with cardboard boxes. I try to tell him the recycling people just want them flattened (I always flatten them nicely.) He points to the pile and says, “well, they are flattened!” Can’t argue.
