I stopped carrying a purse. I carry as little as possible, usually my phone, my ID and a credit card. Oh and keys. it helps when they make clothes for women with decent pockets.
When I was young I carried a shoulder bag as everyone had a purse.
When I stopped wearing makeup in my 30s (never was any good at same) I stopped needing a purse – mostly needed for same in case needed a touchup. If going to work everything went into my briefcase (since start of Covid have not gone out to clients – all done by mail and telephone – most clients do not use a computer).
For every day I wear I jeans – all fits into the pockets. Cell phone, tiny bottle of hand sanitizer (since Covid started), small pill box for meds I need to take with meals, and a “Space pen” fit into my left front pocket. Wallet, keys and a small spray bottle of alcohol fit in the right front pocket. Left rear pocket holds 2 Covid face masks when needed (still around here*) – one for me and for husband and right rear pocket holds folded up “one time use” plastic shopping bags – just as Covid hit our state was about to institute a ban on same being distributed by stores so I had stacked up on same as still legal to use. I can fit 3 folded up in each back pocket, but usually only carry 2 or 3 of them to use. In cold weather add jacket pockets. If it does not fit in a pocket – I don’t need it.
*The township I live in – at the worst of Covid had the highest number of cases in our county which had the 3rd highest number of cases in our state which had the highest number of cases of any state and more than some (not so small) countries. We still are very cautious – at least husband and I are as we are also high risk with 2 different factors each, making us so.
The masks are worn only if we feel we need them under the conditions of where we go inside places – empty place, don’t need them, VERY crowded and lots of coughing – need them.

My man purse is made by Pelican and is on wheels

I’ve been using a belt wallet for over 40 years. Much smaller than a fanny pack, but easier to access than a pocket wallet.

if it doesn’t fit in your pockets, it is not needed, and fanny packs were even worse, what were they thinking

There’s a lady purse, and then there’s a mom purse. If you look hard enough you’ll even find the kitchen sink in there.
