40" of snow fell overnight here in December 2020. This looks about right. Shocked the heck out of me when I opened my front door and the snow was more than halfway up the frame.

You should have realized that when you opened the door and the snow was up to your neck.

Her first clue should have been when the weatherman declared, “We got one Katy’s worth of snow last night.”

It’s January 3. By now we should have as much snow as they do. On the ground right now? Zilch. zero, nada.

Only once have I seen snow that soft & deep. Wearing my widest XC skis, they sank right to the ground in thigh-deep snow.
