I refuse supermarket tickets. Some can be more than a metre long. If I need to check my purchases or need a “proof of purchase”, I can check what I bought or print off, from the supermarket’s website…
We saved the trees when we switched to plastic bags. Now they want us to switch back to paper bags. Seems the bag manufacturers, just like the climate alarmists, have been scamming us all along.
My community is growing like crazy. The builders leave up trees but after people move in, they cut most of them down so they can plant grass. Water, fertilize, weed, cut, repeat… People are amazing.
Fail… using paper actually SAVES trees. Paper is derived from stands of trees grown, specifically, to be harvested and turned, partly into pulp. When the demand for paper diminishes, the property loses its value and gets sold to speculators and developers.
At least the paper decomposes and doesn’t end up as micro bits of plastic everywhere including our precious organs. Like everything though re-planting for use needs to be thought through carefully. Avoid planting mono culture of only fast growing species. Plant a variety. It’s true of all things; food growing, animals, even people. Stick to one kind and in-breed and there will eventually develop susceptibility to harmful effects.
‘The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.’ We should plant more trees anyway.

I went to an ecological fair and spoke to someone from an off grid farming intentional community. You needed to have a car in order to live there.

We get our household paper products from Cloud Paper. It’s made from bamboo, not wood, and we don’t see any difference in the quality of the paper.
