Maybe sleepy Joe helped him out (not). Seems like Joe really wanted to pay off lots of loans(for whatever reasons) while many worked hard to pay theirs off with no help.He was basically trying to buy votes from the grads. How did that work out Joe. Joe…..Joe…..are you there?
I was walking on campus at the local university when three elderly ladies asked me where the office of the registrar was. I asked if they were there to pay off their student loans. They had a good laugh.
My grandson starts college soon. $30,000/year. I just can’t believe a degree is that expensive. I took engineering (worked to pay for school) and had no problem getting employed. Grandson just wants to play soccer in college and the coaches encourage that but without financial help. I encourage him to at least get a business degree. He has great grades.
I don’t understand why some college loans are being forgiven. Nobody coerced these people to borrow the money. I don’t see it as any different than borrowing money to buy a house or car. You give me money for my purposes and I give it back with interest. Except, oh dear, these poor people don’t want to pay it back. So we’ll just forget about it. Does not teach accountability for one’s own actions. Just my own opinion fostered by my being taught to be responsible all my life. Your opinion may well be different.
Congress funding these indoctrination centers with our tax dollars. Collages should loan their OWN money & decide where it would be best placed. How many dei student loans will EVER be paid back. lol If you watch Judge Judy, you’ll see where these loans are used to pay criminals bails, reloaned to boyfriends & most will borrow a LOT of money & Never even get a degree!
60 years ago you didn’t need to takeout loans for degrees. My 4 year degree was less than $7000 with all text books. Which I paid for myself. Working as I went to school.
I get tired of hearing this. Work hard in high school, get scholarships. I’ve “paid” for three fabulous college degrees this way. Many employers also will pay tuition or pay back loans. Don’t whine. Get to work and figure it out.

Don’t laugh, this is happening for real.

I fail to understand why many borrow so much money that realistically can’t ever be paid back. Degrees don’t guarantee high paying jobs.

Skip college completely; drop directly into a university golf course.

The federal government just increased the $36 trillion (and growing) national debt to do it for him.

….at least some pay them off!
There are some who never come close to paying them off because they keep taking so many credits to keep it going….
