Well, that’s rather sad as well as funny. Men in my family not only could cook outdoors, we could start a wood fire to do it using only one match, and no paper for kindling.
Typically, men are not interested in cooking unless danger is involved. There are, of course, plenty of exceptions. I remain but a warmer of frozen stuff.
I’ve always understood “grilling” to be a cooking method done either indoors on a stove or outdoors on a Weber, but “barbecue” referred only to the outdoor option. Now I know better. (What’s correct usage of “cook-out” BTW?)
