    It was mostly the shop classes that got damaged. My old auto shop room was completely leveled.

    I’m amazed at the maturity of the drawing. When I see the early work of other cartoonists the figures aren’t well proportioned, there are far too many lines, the characters look ugly and the panels look cluttered…. Today and yesterday’s drawings are simple and beautiful, not at all like the high school comic strips of other cartoonists.

    I substitute teach at a local high school. The original Mona looks so much like a few of the students I have, it is uncanny. Capturing that look of desperation and sadness at such a young age truly shows Ms. Babcock’s talent.
