Fie fowl poultry! Fowl includes both landfowl (chickens, quail, and pheasants) and waterfowl (ducks, geese, and swans). Poultry can include any domesticated bird, such as chickens, turkeys, geese, and ducks, but it doesn’t include game birds like pheasants or partridges
Shakespeare wrote before standardized spelling. I’m sure his original copy read “Fare is fowl, and fowl is fare,” before some later editor screwed it up.
I’ve had to quit reading the comics (& trying to comment) at 3am (mountain time) because I keep getting the annoying page saying “we’re sorry, the website is experiencing heavy user traffic right now” apparently everyone is here commenting at that time and it overloads the site (which seems odd, surely there aren’t that many people using gocomics at any given time? But I’m no programmer or computer expert so idk how many is too many)
I know it doesn’t make any sense!“Chicken is considered poultry. Poultry refers to domesticated birds raised for food, including chicken, turkey, duck, and goose, so while chicken is technically “meat” as it’s animal flesh, it falls specifically under the category of poultry."
