And anyone who snared the Wirkin from Walmart probably already has it listed for resale online at twice the price.

I live in North Carolina, home of NASCAR and ACC sports. Both are prime targets for knock-off logo products. Large flea-market sales often have undercover FBI agents in search of people making and selling the knock-offs.

I’ve got no problem with knock-offs, as long as the seller doesn’t try to pass them off as the real thing. Many years ago, I bought a knock-off “Patek Philippe” watch for $20 off of a street vendor in New York City. It was cheap junk, but it worked, looked good enough, and lasted about 10 years (until it dropped on a cement floor and stopped working).

Around that same time, I bought a “cashmere” scarf from another street vendor for $1. We all knew it was just a scrap of polyester, but it was a really cold day and it kept me warm, so it was a good deal.

Unfortunately, Chesney doesn’t believe honesty is the best policy. Instead, he believes there’s a sucker born every minute. On another note, saw two juncos, five varied thrushes, and a raven while out walking today.
