At least Megan still gives Sherman partial ownership of Herman.

“Please dumb it down for me.”“Your son is very good at school stuff.”“Dumb it down even more, please.”“He brain-good.”“Still not enough, Miss.”

Sherman is not smart enough to know how to use the word “said” as he does in the last panel.

Usually when Calvin’s parents have a parent-teacher conference with Miss Wormwood, it’s mainly because of Calvin’s antics.

When Albert Einstein started going to school his teachers thought he was ‘slow’ because he seldom spoke and had delayed speech development. Which parent he got that from is moot as his genius still applies today. Herman got his smarts from Megan, sorry Sherman lol

But what aptitudes does he score highly for? Something useful? Maybe he’d just make a great barista or serial killer. Or serial killing barista?

Aptitude and IQ are different things; the latter can inform the former, but the former doesn’t inform the latter. For example, there are many highly gifted athletes (high aptitude for athletic endeavors) that can’t read or write beyond a very rudimentary level (if at all) or speak in an intelligent manner. Those that confuse aptitude for intellect tend to lack intellect.

An aptitude test does not measure smartness, I know because I flunked my aptitude test in high school. Why, because I am duel brained, I like both art and science and did very well in both. I majored in Physics in college but still took art courses. Aptitude test can not handle someone who can do more than one thing.
