I watch on Tictok and Youtube a retired lawyer that camps out in Alaska without a tent sometimes with temps well below zero. When his kids aren’t in school he brings his wife and kids. He grew up there. Last video it was about 30 below and he built a fire to heat the Earth and he slept over the coals in a wooden bed. He woke up and his hips hurt from the hard surface he laid on. Great videos but this one he cut short. The kids LOVE it. Age happens
First camping trip with my sons, at 12 and 16, was tough, hard trail hiking. After camp was set up and we had a small fire. I made freeze-dried spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. The meat balls were not so good. After awhile there were only a few left and I asked, “you guys want any more freeze-dried monkey nuts?” I think we were in laughing fits for half an hour! We forgot how tired we were.
In the morning we hiked out and had a nice civilized breakfast at a restaurant.

Camping is what you do when, for some reason, you don’t want to be comfortable or happy.

Or, you could find a log to sit on.

If you can both laugh over it, true bonding can occur.

Camping, rich people that complain about those that live in trailer parks, living in av R.V. trailer park. Hilariously ironic.
