Reminds me of the explanations and fantasy stories my parents used to “explain” things when I was a young child. I grew up as a result with a vivid imagination, which led to a vivid curiosity, which led to learning not only to find the “why” of things and increase my knowledge, but to always think outside the box when looking for solutions. I’m grateful to my parents for being not just my first teachers but storytellers as well. A little fantasy is necessary when you are very young since it increases creativity as you grow older.
It’s bitter cold in Chicago. Many of the dogs, especially short haired, are wearing coats and boots. Meanwhile, the cats lie next to the heat vents looking nonchalant.

Kate colours in the world by putting it on. Meaning it’s always more colourful with her around.

Shawm has an interesting perspective. He’s not wrong, either.

Humans do have fur, just most of it is very fine, and very short. Except for some people that resemble hairy apes with their abundance of body hair!
Oh, and apparently we’re also striped according to studies.

Yes, the ‘striped humans’ article gave me the idea for this strip. The stripes are only visible under certain conditions.

Ah, winter. When it takes 4 layers and many minutes to dress to leave the house.

You nailed it, Shawm!

That is a great observation, Shawm!

The very art of layering. Hang on to the cuffs of the lower layers so they don’t bunch up to your elbows when adding another ‘grippy’ fabric layer.
The adept (well-practiced) ‘flipping the scarf around’, perfectly depicted.
Wiggling your well insulated arms through the straps of a backpack. Don’t take it for granted.
BTW, Sirius, you’re about the right size to be a Heater Pup under a layer or two.
Pre-heating. Wearing your full January mid-continent Winter gear a few minutes before braving the outdoors.
Just curious, what are the two small panels/devices on the right side of the door? It’s the non-handle and locks side.

Thanks for the giggles, Nancy. They’ll help me keep my sanity as the day of Trump’s second inauguration approaches.

No pun on Shawm’s part, just fatherly wisdom!

Shawm did explain clothing pretty well!

Shawm seems to have explanations for a lot of things.
