I’ve always believed that cats can alter their molecular density. My ten pound cat soars in weight, to very nearly 80 pounds at three in the morning. And she can concentrate all eighty pounds in one paw as she strolls leisurely across me.
I can relate. Our house is like a drum. If someone drops a pencil upstairs, it sounds like a bowling pin. When our two cats start racing around upstairs, it sounds like we have horses instead of cats.
“PUH PLUNK” perfectly replicates how it sounds when a cat lands on the floor when jumping off a bed or any other elevated surface. I immediately understood this comic.
We used to have a cat who would get into the back of the basement where the furnace is, and would jump up onto the exposed ductwork. That sound will wake you up in the middle of the night!
I lived in an apartment complex in New Orleans, where the resident managers had two ocelots as pets. The noise those two cats could make at night sounded like an alien invasion. I don’t see how the owners slept unless their bedroom was soundproof.

I first thought it was a hair ball but then I noticed he wasn’t behind the couch. He was upstairs.

Today’s “comic” strip is a cat wakes up, jumps off the bed and walks downstairs.
OMG, I’m laughing so hard I’m going to hyperventilate!

Arlo’s remark is referring to a video of meteorite recorded on a doorbell camera.

We have two cats. A loud thumper and a quiet thumper. I can always tell who jumped off the bed.

I have only been with Arlo and Janis for about two years, but this one seems kinda weak.

Most cats are graceful, but we had one that was so loud and clumsy when she jumped down that I nicknamed her “The Albatross”

How our cats announce they are off the kitchen counters.

Nothing will wake you up in the morning quicker than a cat on your bed hacking up a hairball. More effective than 10 cups of coffee.
