Arthritis in the neck is more convincing than falling out of bed as far as pillow use is concerned (less or more depending). Sometimes, falling off the bed is the only way I can get out..
Husband sleeps with 2 pillows. Problem is that he stands up them on their sides and he wants the front pillow (the one his head goes on) up higher than one behind.
So I get into bed. When he is ready I have to lie with my hand under that front pillow and lift it up while he leans back against it so that it stays in place for him. What I always wonder about is that at some point (or more than one point) during the night he will get up and out of bed to use the bathroom and somehow the pillow stays in the right position for him and he does not need to wake me to help him.

If I did that, I’d end up with a permanent crick in my neck!

If he installed a barrier fence, he might dream he’s in jail.

If falling out of bed during sleep is a problem, think about getting a hospital bed with side rails. An adult-sized crib would keep you safe, too.

I only sleep with one, and hug another, but it’s in the middle of the bed.

Only an issue when you sleep in a 3/4 size bed when you’re used to a a Queen size bed and your spouse thinks you’re in a King size bed.

Somewhere there is the first comic strip to use “Z” to indicate sleeping.

I have a little dog, and sometimes a cat. I usually sleep with a leg hanging off the bed…

He needs a waterbed ,no chance of falling out! At least the older ones with the wood box not the new softside ones.

I’d love to fall out of bed – for me prying myself out of bed is a major source of daily exercise

Really? I’ve never had much problem with that. Fell out of bed once or twice over the decades, but was more bemused than damaged or alarmed.
