Broken glass in not considered a reliable fire re+tardant. The + is to comply with AI rejection of the word as not allowed. A truly irritating and mostly incorrect app.
Oh, lordy! I just thought of the Next Big Thing for the culinary scene of New York or Boston — the exciting, high-end establishment Rotissarat*! Free-range, locally-grown, (and all-too-renewable) main dishes! A range of familiar and exotic treatments — barbecue, rat-au-feu, ratscouse, bulgogi, the always-comforting Shrek-style, and more! Vegan options (somehow) available! Initially snooty and hard to get into…then branching out to selected metropolitan centers…then to a mall near you.
Now, to get the glossy magazines and social-media meme factories going…-
If you try braking that glass you’ll find that in fact nothing happens unless you follow the NEXT instruction. And 50% of the time, still nothing happens…

There’s a little loss in the caveman’s language translation.
You can’t really rely that it can be accurately translated into modern English.
That sign should have read, “In case of FOOM!, break glass.”

He just manufactures the glass case. It’s another department responsible for what should be inside it. Bureaucracy.

It’s not bad enough they killed a harmless animal, now they disparage his hygiene.

Rats were especially greasy in those days because they ate a lot of potato chips

Magnesium glass, is, perhaps, a bad inventor’s choice. But the fleas, lice, and mosquitoes went “snap, crackle, pop.”

How can you have a grease fire when there’s no grease. More likely the rat’s fur caught on fire. Next time, try skinning it.

We had one of those home rotisseries long ago. Now we have one of the fire blankets sold on line. Great comic!

He could have saved the rat, until he threw glass on it. Dangerous eating there.
