Seeing all that snow in Maria’s comic strip reminds me of how winters used to be in my part of Wisconsin (beside Lake Michigan). The last few years, we only seem to get smallish snowfalls that quickly melt away with the next abnormally warm stretch of weather. We used to have a decent snow pack until at least late April, and sometimes later.
Yeah, and the weatherpeople who have you thinking a few days ago today was going to be a nice enough temperatures in the 40’s and instead it might get as warm as 32F. Oh, well, better than the 0 at home. :P
I remember a birder describing their concern about a tiny bird that was being slowly covered by snow. The next morning, the bird shook off the insulating blanket of snow and went about their day.

Reminds me of screenshots I’ve seen of eagle’s nest live cams, where the nest is full of snow & only the eagle parent’s head is sticking out…
