Last night I dreamed I was in the neighborhood where ai grew up. At least it felt like that, but nothing was familiar. Anyone else have dreams like that.
Ah, I can only dream of skiing like I did when our school had an arrangement that made affordable the ski school at Schuss Mountain in Antrim County! I think it was the last day of my last year that our naughty French instructor taught us how to do the downhill racing crouch (skiing straight down the slopes was strictly forbidden, normally). There wasn’t much else for me to learn except something else competitive such as slalom. Never did go down the black diamond slope though. I’m too laid-back to find that kind of challenge compelling. I loved smoothly swooping back and forth down the wide, gentler slopes.
Mine keeps mixing memories with unrealistic ambitions, leaving me to waken to both overconfidence and trepidation. Can’t seem to set a course that gets anywhere. Thank goodness for Rose and GoComics.
I used to remember what I had dreamed at night. I still remember a dream which I had sometime before I was 5 years old. There was a ghost over the foot board of my crib.* I can see everything which was around the ghost in the room and even my dad getting up to come and help me as I was screaming – though I am pretty sure this last part was real as he did wake me.
About 2 or 3 years ago, all of a sudden I no longer remember what I have dreamed and not even whether or not I have dreamed at all. I seem to be having mostly nightmares as I will wake husband up tossing and turning and talk a bit – he wakes me and I have no memory at all of dreaming.
*Yes, 5 years old is pretty late in life for a child to sleep in a crib. We lived in a one room apartment and I had to share the room with my parents and they had not bought a bed to replace my crib as we were going to be moving to a house soon.

Take a ride on heavy metal. It’s the only way that you can travel down that road.
