This plugger knows that steps don’t lose weight, only a diet can do that. The “steps” keep the resulting body in proper shape. Though I prefer laps in the community pool.
I live in a 2 story plus basement house. I come down the stairs, I go up the stairs, I come down the stairs – 2 flights, I go back up – 2 flights… all day every day.
When not in the house I am out with husband at some large store or another – mostly walking around looking for something he cannot find so we go to another of same and repeat.
We had been going to a local mall – a relatively small one and it is not busy, but it is where he worked while in college and it is enclosed so the weather does not matter – and we walk around and around it for fun and exercise. This will soon end, after this mall has been there for some time longer than 5 decades, it is being changed into an outdoor mall and most of the stores will be closed as they are looking to only have large stores. So we will not be able to doing our walking around as it will just be a line of large stores. Not sure why they think this a good idea as there are several stores across the road from the mall in the sort of setup they plan to do – and ALL of those stores are long empty. We will have to figure out which of the other indoor malls is the least annoying as they are all upscale malls so not much that we would look at in them.

When I go for the daily walk I go by time, not step counting ;-)

10,000 steps is supposed to be equal to a mile, but for how tall of a person? Differnt height, different stride length.
I measured the distance of my walking route and bike riding route with an odometer.

It’s the number of steps that matters. As for distance, results will vary according to leg length.

I don’t count steps, and I don’t diet.

I keep a rough track of both – try to do around 1500cal and 9000steps per day, but I don’t sweat it if I don’t.

Or some of us pluggers see this panel as a reminder of the play by Eugène Ionesco and a prescient metaphor for our current time.
