They have allowed the administration to control the discourse of the problem by mislabeling the situation. It is not a “labour shortage,” it is a “wage shortage.” Pay a decent wage and you will have to turn people away.My cousin was a math major in school and wanted to teach. She did some research during her sophomore year. She became an insurance actuary. Her first year on the job she earned twice what teachers earned. Then she finished her MS and passed her actuarial exam and in the space of 5 years she was earning 4X what a teacher with her credentials was earning. It is sickening what the USA doesn’t pay its educators. I guess now with President Musk and FLOTUS tiny the situation will only get worse.

a handful of my friends drive school bus… kudos to them, cuz you couldn’t pay me enuf!… (even if the extra month of vacation was paid!)
