During my middle age there was co-ed soccer. I recall one lady on the opposing team having strong pizza and beer breath. I tried to poke tackle but her breath put off my timing.
I’m pretty sure Number 3 still reads the comics. Because of her encouragement I am again donating blood on a regular basis. Yesterday was my first donation this year and I dedicated it to her. Her, Affie and others use to make daily comments. It’s sad that old crowd has, for the most part, moved on.

And it’s amazing he can still stand after his “refueling”.

Thank you for your responses yesterday about real-life “Andy Capps”. I saw that a few of them met bad ends. Will that happen to your hero, too??

Staggering sideways helps Andy avoid tackles.

A single cartoon featuring the coach wondering what’s happened to Andy and the football team during half time.
Andy is sticking his head out the door and explaining they’ve only got one bottle opener between them!

Of course, no big trucks or buses came to our rescue. Not even a single open manhole.

Bodacious warm-up.

Most of t his team probably tears ligaments during pregame stretching.
Actually, past strips have cast Andy as the “resident dirty fighter”—in charge of knocking the other team’s players out of the game

Andy lifts weights, 16 ounces at a time…

At least Andy makes the match. At night, he’d fall into the canal.

And pukes on the goalie. Yucky ducky.

Andi is beneath contempt. He’s lower than scum.

I’m amazed the man can run in a straight line.

They should have worked Andy into Ted Lasso.

A reminder that Capp does have rules. It is 3 pints before a big match, but 5 before a Friendly. This appears to be a Friendly.
cuzinron47 about 1 month ago
He has the same routine at half time.
constantine48 about 1 month ago
Doing that at his age, he’s going to give himself a heart attack.

4 panels.
In the first panel, Flo is lying on the sofa and we can read her thoughts;
“S’pose l’d better mend that ’ole in ’is trouser pocket afore ’e gets up…”
In the next 2 panels, Flo is having second thoughts and decides to leave it be.
In the final panel, Flo goes back to the sofa. Her thoughts read;
“E’d only want to know ’ow l knew it was there!”

In addition to football, some early Andy Capp strips depicted him playing cricket as well.
