âWe can have democracy in this country or we can have great concentrated wealth in the hands of a few, but we cannot have both.â âJustice Louis D. Brandeis (1856-1941), US Supreme Court (1916-1939), 1941
Sooo many people are going to listen to Earl, now, arenât they? He probably needs a bigger hut, or perhaps write a book about how hard it was when he was growing up. If Trumpâs still around, heâll love it!
Fluffy is the current and only multi-trillionaire now running rampant in DC. However, a number of multi-millionaires are ârealigningâ the media to suit their personal political bents.
The rule of the oligarchs is spreading and ultimately will do as much or more damage to this country than Buttercup and Fluffy. By the next presidential election they will be well entrenched and nothing that might be done will change that.
âThe wealth of the nation is the wealth of the few. The danger of these factions is that they may acquire so much influence that they can pursue their interests at the expense of the common good.â James Madison
âThere is a natural aristocracy among men. The grounds of this are virtue and talents. To these, there can be no objection; but there is also an artificial aristocracy, founded on wealth and birth, without either virtue or talents.â John Adams
âAs democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heartâs desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.â â H.L. Mencken, On Politics: A Carnival of Buncombe. 1956
It would be easier if youâre rich, but mainly you need a good message and convince people to donate to your campaign, then convince the masses of your lies (this goes for both sides)
Being a political power broker" requires money, whether your own or the ability to use other peopleâs money with their blessings. Far too many Americans âsellâ their vote by accepting without question what they see and hear from media sources. As we saw in November 2024, some 40% of all voters voted against their own interests. More didnât vote at all. Money gets the message out. Sorting out the lies, separating the fly poop from the pepper, is the voterâs responsibility. When voters take the âeasy wayâ, donât do the work required, we get the government we have today.
@Sparklin Oh, my goodness, you went on for 17 whole words. How wasteful. You know youâre not supposed to exceed a dozen before moving on, chop chop chop, to the next agendized target for your spam. Do you think Glorious Leader Putin is made of money? Be sure to convert your weekly paycheck from rubles to dinars before you get laid off, tovarisch.
