When I lived in Phoenix, mall walking was a popular pastime… for old people (or should I say “seniors”.) Some malls would open early before the stores opened to accommodate the walkers. When it’s 110 degree it makes sense to walk indoors. With that in mind, Mall Walkers aren’t such a goofy idea.
He is not borrowing the money he spends to buy all that useless stuff – that’s what he says at least. I suppose he still works at the Bloom Picayune to earn the money he needs to support the economy as he does…
Walk in the mall near me and you will probably get mugged… if you’re not getting mugged it’s because the criminals are too busy breaking into your car.
It was not the Roman Empire that fell due to increased excessive consumption and income inequality but rather the Roman Republic. The influx of wealth that came with the Roman Republic’s expansion into the East led to bribery and corruption back home leading to the fight between Marius and Sulla and the latter’s dictatorship and eventually the Social War and Civil War’s that ended with the assassination of Julius Caesar and rise of Augustus the first Emperor of Rome in 31 BC. The Roman Empire then persisted for about 300 more years before succumbing to the advancements of the barbarous hordes from the north.

It has been scientifically proven that the perfect attachment for walking or running is called the foot. No covering required.

Mall Walkers are, indeed, an actual product you can buy (Google search). They’re not sneakers, though, although that’s a minor point.

The Roman Empire fell because of $79.00 sneakers? I don’t believe it. But Milo is a journalist, so I wouldn’t believe him anyway….
