That sounds like it could be the Chicago blue line but there is no mention of delays or shuttle buses between stops. So I’m not sure where this is set.
how about “a subway named moebius” - a short story i read once about an overly complex subway system (in Boston, I think) which had one of its trains ‘cross’ to the back side back side (another dimension) and disappear. very interesting tale.
“You should have gone to Morrow yesterday and back today for the train that goes to Morrow is a mile upon its way.
If you had gone to Morrow yesterday now don’t you see, you could have gone to Morrow and returned today at three
For the train today to Morrow, if the schedule is right, today it goes to Morrow and returns tomorrow night.”
Hey, Chicagoans…. Before I commit this one to its place in the fourth book, am I right in my memory of which direction (traveling from O’Hare toward the Loop) the doors open at on the Blue Line at Logan Square? Anyone know?

Also, don’t forget to mind the gap.

Belmont, Logan Square, Blue Line are all parts of greater Boston, but nowhere near each other. It’s an MBTA Scramble.

From Nowhere in Particular, it is just a short bus ride to either Charter or Out of Service.

@ Dmajor - Thanks, I thought that sounded like Bostons T to me. I still have some old tokens, somewhere.

Didn’t get to comment on this one because I was driving all day yesterday to get home. My comments will end up on Tuesday’s strip.
And thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone.
