Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
D-minus-minus, my foot. You can split the difference between a D and an F infinitely if you need the kid to pass. But Calvin should have got an F for that non-effort with a minus tacked on for dishonesty.
Not to say I donât like the kid. Thatâs beside the point.
Interestingly Hobbes is the only being (non-human) who will not get Calvin into trouble.
He always has an ear for Calvinâs antics.
He also has a wise but sarcastic mouth.
That cracked me up, Clavin and Hobbes and Peanuts are the only comic stips that ever made me laugh. I like how this strip had a lot up build up for the ending joke. Todayâs comic strips in newspaper are just bland, uncreative and BORING. I stopped reading the funnies in the newspaper years ago.
A D- -? MissWormwood was too nice! Calvin deserved an F and a - in Conduct as well. What does Susie see in this guy? And welcome back Hobbes! We missed you.
@possiblekim: What child could be as bright as Calvin at his age?
WellâŠahemâŠI was. And I was much more responsible (especially about my schoolwork) too, despite being very similar to Calvin in all the other basic ways that count. And I have known kids who were brighter still.
If only Calvin could learn to focus. That would be a very great gift, for then nothing could stop him from becoming anything he wanted to be.
I might have been here earlier, but we âresearch assistantsâ were busy observing the sunrise!
By the way, the sun is like bread dough; it comes up in the y(east).
A D minus minus is a (small) cut above an F plus, which is about where Calvin likes to be. Now heâll have to play all weekend and remind his parents Sunday night (after the library closes, of course) of his book report.
It doesnât end when you are a adult. I just said to my wife you have book club tonight and she said @#*^# I havenât read that book yet. Looks like another search on the internet for a condensed version.
Calvinâs mind is elsewhere ⊠like in his make-believe reality with Hobbes or other dimensions when he is having fun and being creative.
Please, letâs hope that all those adults looking at Calvin, donât stifle his creative side. Channel it elsewhere, like into more effective educational methods.
Grog,
Well, iâm not independently wealthy, as you are.
I have to take what I can get âŠand âMake hay while the sun shines.â We research assistants observe together. âMany hands make âlightâ work.â
Danae is like Calvin; she doesnât âpayâ attention, but I often donât get paid attention. If I were egocentric, it might bother me. :o) P.S. Thank you for the attention.
Hobbes, ever the constant friend and good lawyer keeping his clientsâs affairs always in mindâŠ.itâs a source of consistent interest to me to try to figure out what Calvin will actually become in later lifeâŠ.like any of the rest of us knew what would happen to usâŠlol
Well, Calvin, unlike the very last minute bug collection you tried to throw together (earning you a D-minus-minus) ⊠Hobbes has given you a more than sufficient enough reminder that you have a book report due soon so get crackinâ, kid!!!!!

Incorrigible, right! I think the only take-away lesson our little guy will learn is the politicianâs credo: Donât get caught!
Later he will learn the five words that politicians fear most:
Will the defendant please rise?
