This is the second time that lewd hand-gesture has appeared in this strip! Remember Mr. Pops was flashing it a week or so back, when directing the cops to the circus tent? What’s it called again?
Oh, that’s right, “the shocker.”
I’m so unhappy that I even have to know about something like that.
Panel Three: Yesterday, Dick removed his tie. Today we see that his jacket is off. What will he remove tomorrow?
Why does every story now start with a one-sided phone conversation and somebody having an idea? The irony of somebody having an idea in this comic strip has not escaped me.
And yet, at the very least, I’m thankful it’s still running.
What will Tracy remove tomorrow ? Were we silly enough to believe Groundzero from Tuesday about Della Contessa … it would be Tracy’s ring!
All the stories this year have been triggered by ideas from Tess, and this one no doubt will. Otherwise, how would Dick meet the bad guys ? He’s seldom in HQ. these days Dick now seems to operate out of a sub-office at his Home.
Advantage to DL, avoiding having Sam Catchem appear in the strip. Neat ! If there is a plan to get rid of him. And it seems to be working, Sam was last seen one year and 2 months ago at the start of the Traze-R story.
Off-Topic: Flight Suit, I have to know: Did that sign you posted on your blog get any money? It seems just crazy enough to work.
On Topic: Not sure how long I follow this arc. I’ve about reached my fill of Dick Tracy screaming in terror while criminals run right over him. Bonnie Braids would be braver, I dare say.
Happy Thanksgiving, all! Flight Suit, what I was referring to is that I offered up a generous donation to the Dick Tracy Museum (virtual-type) through Mattie via PayPal. I did this since Mattie has his heart in it. He hasn’t responded. I hope for his sake that he doesn’t apply for a job fundraising.
Margueritem, a luchador is one of those Mexican wrestlers that wears some kind of crazy mask. The following is an excellent portrayal of the life of a luchador:

Michael McMillan, thank you so much for looking at my humble blog! I have no idea if the sign generated any money, because I didn’t stick around to find out.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Most of you are presumably eating turkey, but I think the Funny Dead Duck would make a fine meal.
Akenta thank you for the post of Judge Parker.
DT is just relaxing after not having a relaxing time at the circus. I was hoping there would be a Thanksgiving for the DT strip today.
Happy feasting everyone for Thanksgiving day. Ours will be a few short hours. Kansas has nice weather.
And the news states the Space Shuttle will be seen east of Kansas central time this evening.
Maybe Tess’s idea is to have Dick investigate the mysterious cell phone charged to their credit card months ago. Or maybe she wants to sell perfume to help pay off the bill. Or maybe…………sorry, never mind……….
In the meantime, my avatar is indicative of my suggestion to Mattie to shave off his artistic Frenchie fuzz.
And I ask myself, “why should I apologize” - to some one who never apologizes for anything. For his past “rudeness”, name calling and mistakes, including hilarious and wildly exagerated ones like calling Dick Locher’s “Tracy” work - “SUPERB” ?
Joe Allen Doty (being sure I got his long name, “exactly” right), said :
“A ‘luchador’ is ‘one who fights’, either physically or verbaly”
“Luchador”? Now why to my untrained ear does that have a similar phonetic resonance to “Locher” (?) and then, the “fighting” verbally part, seems like a classic description of our own Mattie H, “fist” raised, and spoiling to prove his raison d’état on the board (?)
”Luchadors”, might then, be the appropriate designation for those now “retired” stalwarts should they “rise up” again, warrior like to defend the indefensible procrastinator. *;)*
Flight Suit, Thanks for the heads up on “luchador”.
There are many more episodes of George Warrior. Everything from that uploader is pretty brilliant. I’m quite partial to “Water & Power” and “Water & Power: Miami.”
Joe Allen Doty:
It’s not me; Google “the shocker” or look it up on urbandictionary.com. Mr. Pops was perviously seen flashing this exact, same hand gesture, and it wasn’t me who pointed it out. I can assure you that I do not have a dirty mind and only think wholesome, family-oriented thoughts.

Hee, hee. Tess says, “Dick, I’ve got an idea.”

Dare you speak your idea aloud, Tess?
Could it be that you want to go see the Pig-On-Wheels?

Looks like panel three got dunked in a bucket of bleach.
At least it’s a new story. Let’s hope it is a better one.

Dick looks like he’s about 20 years old in panel 3.

Good strip. The hand is horrible (But who is the real artist? Brozman or Locher?).
