If my mom were Linda Blair's mom in "The Exorcist." Mom: Well, I just hope when you get older and have kids, they get possessed by the Devil and treat you the way you treat me!!
doc, was it a Catholic school?—
if so, that ‘splains a lot…
some of the fallible traits of priests and course language and adult situations were perceived to be not in the best interests of a “good catholic upbringing”…
…never mind the fact that reading “the Exorcist” at age eleven is fairly advanced and commendable…
.I suspect you had good grades and went on to success in college…..
unless, of course, you got lazy
Come on, guys, that’s anybody’s mother - comes with the territory, like “You’ll put your eye out” or “Your eyes will STAY crossed”.
@pookid: Actually, “The Devil In Miss Jones” starred Georgina Spelvin, not Marilyn Chambers (or so I’ve heard, I wouldn’t really know myself), and can still be downloaded from many of the BitTorrent locations, such as the Pirate Bay (or so I’ve heard) as can many others from those old days of mainstream XXX (or so I’ve heard).
In catholic school, I once had a nun catch me reading a library book during 5th grade Geography class (for which class I had the highest grades, and I had already read the entire textbook).
As she prepared to take me to task, she noticed WHAT i was reading.
Dantes “Divine Comedy”, in triple column format, with original text, direct English translation, and English prose paraphrase.
Needless to say, the good sister suffered greatly from the conflicting impulses to discipline me and praise me for my choice in pleasure reading.

Mom maybe it’s because she can not stand the pea soup you keep making.
