The punning banter between Quill and “Luannie” is typical H.S. fun!

CJBz— I sure hope there’s no age limit on flirting! And @Rina from yesterday — yes, of course I was joking with that song. Nobody could sing it today with a straight face. The whole show, Flower Drum Song, is too full of stereotypes to stage - Asian, female, or both. “I talk on the telephone for hours, with a pound and a half of cream upon my face???” Gimme a break!BTW - Glad to see so many from the “old” Luann board — though I wish I knew what more of you were called there so I’d recognise you here.

OK I know my comment was long – sorry if some of you don’t like that — but can any of you “old-timers” here tell me why some of it shows in my browser with a line through it? Is there a limit?

But contained nothing that would be censored, and it’s still readable, unless it’s invisible to the rest of you. Can other people see a quote from “I Enjoy Being a Girl” in my comment?"

No, it’s called you used dashes and it read them as a request to print the text with strikethrough type.Like this probably will be.

I could be wrong, but wasn’t there a Luann musical? I could’ve sworn they did one when I was in junior high…

Hey I’m back and back as ravonlea to boot. I was ravonlea on the orig comics.com/luann site, then had to rereg when they changed and it would not let me take ravonlea so i morphed into muppets 123… and now as they say" eveything old is new again" and i had to become ravonlea again to post here. Not having access to internet for aprox 3 weeks and all the changes i am more confuzzled than Luann but thank goodness for archives. As for todays strip: Love the banter and punning and that also Luann and Quill are trying to keep it light, especially in contrast to the serious side of toni and her brother and the shannon equation. Also trying to keep it light b/c of the fireworks and passion that were around before and during the I’m a snot recording session.

susan, about the word dude. I think “a dude” is a male, but when addressing someone "dude is gender neutral. Same with the word “guy” “a guy” is a male, addressing people “guys” is neutral. But susan, no, please don’t ever be gender neutral…..

I’m eager to see which character Toni D’s brother will play. Will it be Javert? Val Jean? Enjolras?

Not to sound like an elitist, but I’ve been following Luann daily since 2003. I’ve come to find that I enjoy the Brad/Tony arcs more-so than Luanns as the years have gone by. This comic is a perfect example of the contrast between the characters and why I like B&T stuff more than L’s. Bravo to Greg Evans for being able to capture the mentality of both age groups and still deliver an enjoyable strip.

I saw Flower Drum Song & loved it. Yes it was “racist”, about Chinese people visiting their Chinese American relatives. Wonderful upbeat music, delightful loveable characters and an ending that has you leaving the theater on top of the world and loving everybody. Anyone who could find that offensive has a strange outlook on life. Besides it is FICTION, not a documentary. Therefore not to be taken word for word true.

Gregg is doing a wonderful job on this arc, note how it has moved along day by day. Often he has strung things out, and I feared all this double date would be discussed with Bernice, then Nancy, maybe even Gunther, and finally with Quill with Tiff butting in as usual. But wonderfully, Greg kept it moving and telling a new story, and that is good writing.

I am puzzled. The usual seating IMO would have the gals together in the middle. Of course they would do all the talking to each other, but that is IMO what usually happens. Will Quill and Toni interact? They have never before been seen together, I believe.

Jonah should get into contact with Elwood, get fame that way.— I’d like to see Shannon in the play. She is theatrical.

Hey, to defend Brook, he claims he had fun doing comics until the comments, especially from trolls, not only got raunchy, but there was one guy that would copy the artwork, but replace the words in the balloons with fairly obscene statements…..I take him at his word. after that it would be more fun to just be creative with your art, without being distracted…..No one can deny his skill as an artist, and his stories are always good, sometimes absolutely wonderful.

@Robert : LOL sorry. Just to emphasize that I’ve been hooked for a while and that Toni and Brad I think always interests me more than Luann. I can’t really relate to them as much, but I love(d) watching B&T’s love story unfold. @Diver Dan : LOL whoops, can I blame it on being deployed in the middle east and having to type fast before my internet goes down?

They may be double dating, but it doesn’t seem like they are eavesdropping. Both couples are interested in their partners.

I played Bass in a garage band back in the day. I was so sure we would become stars I used to practice my “autograph” too. It became my signature. Looks kind of like a face. Sometimes it smiles, sometimes it frowns. Sort of funny. Doesn’t look anything like my name at all.
