Why do they communicate with words? Seems to me their evl sgnls would be far more efficient. It’s like the astronauts communicating with earth via flags or a flashing lamp.
“Somthing up my sleev, so to spk.” Traze-R has acquired a sense of humor, albeit not ready for prime time. He’s about at the Al Gore level for humor at this point (nothing political intended here).
In the first panel, is he righting himself, or still falling over?
In the third panel, he seems to be prone (or supine…can’t ever remember which is which).
The battery business doesn’t bother me at all. This is supposed to be fabulous new technology, and since we’ve not seen any yet, maybe it’s all in the batteries.
Look at it like James Bond’s gun, that carries about 500 rounds in something that fits in the palm of your hand.

With great effort Traze-R was able to right himself. He’d given up hope that Tracy would be able to help him fight Magnum Force so decided his only chance was to lie low, hoping MF would get distracted and forget about him.
“It’s fortunate detective Tracy was able to make such a spectacle of himself, buying me the time I needed to prepare my counter attack”! He thankfully thought.
Traze-R decided to try his hand at quoting old clichés, just as MF liked to do.
“Something up my sleev, so to spk”!
Traze-R felt a sudden surge of giddiness! HE knew something that no one else did. Finally he would be the one with the surprise! He knew he should keep his mouth shut but couldn’t stop himself.
“Remembr th tiny remote crawler in my lower comprtmnt”? He blurted out to everyone.
Ltl Buzz Bomb screamed out loud as he speedily rolled down Traze-R’s ramp.
“YES”!!! “I’M FREE” his mind exploded, “I’m finally outta this dump”!
Why that fat pig Diet Smith thought it was a good idea to store him in this ‘tip-toeing thru the tulips’ chump Traze-R baffled him. He wanted to vomit everytime Traze-R willingly poured Diet a glass of milk. When he had the chance he’d have to put Smith on a permanent diet!
“I’m outta hr”!
Traze-R, exhausted from the effort to right himself quickly collapsed to the ground. He weakly spoke to Ltl Buzz Bomb.
“You know what to do, Ltl Buzz Bomb”-
Ltl Buzz Bomb didn’t even waste his time looking at Traze-R. After all this time stuck in that stupid compartment he couldn’t wait to get to the action.
“I couldn’t stand another minute of listening to that stupid ‘Brute-Force’s insults”, he angrily thought. “If you want a job done right you need to do it yourself”!
“Roger! Leme Attm”.
“I’m outta her.” So Traze=R is actually either female or trans. Of course it would have to be, to give birth. But it’s apparently not mammalian. Is this some sort of subtle sublim message? I suspect the Illuminati is behind this.
Oops, I have to take that back. I just checked out The Comics Curmudgeon, and you’re actually all just a bunch of Josh Fruhlinger wannabes. Fruhlinger goes after the easy targets, too, but the difference is, he has some measure of talent. The people here just take the easiest possible potshots, and they aren’t nearly as funny. Dick Tracy is a bad strip, but Locher actually demonstrates more talent crafting this than you guys can muster making asinine comments about it.

And yet millions of children are texting each other dozens of times every day using the EXACT same language to communicate. My nieces and their friends even text each other when they are in the same room…and in the EXACT language technique Dick Locher has employed throughout this entire story for TRAZE-R and Brute Force.

Robots not only DO NOT exercise verbal communication through language like the rest of us “old” people do, but almost every use of this language technique through this story is IDENTICAL to the “dumb” text language our kids are using to communicate with one another each and every day.
Moral: Your kids are growing up to be nothing but robots.
Makes sense to me, folks. IF depression comes, the future is really gonna suck because young people are basically useless to our survival.
It’s a helluva philosophical note on today’s youth as an end to DL’s near 60-year career and Tracy’s 77+ year run. Nothing like going out with a wise message, though.
