Pop quiz kiddies: Given the clues that “the clown fired that funny gun up in the air” and Tracys’ assertion that she has been shot, how many weeks before he thinks to ask to see the clowns gun and question him?
There must be a devious twist here. I think having thousands of witnesses was somehow essential to the crime. And that Mr Pops meant to be seen by everyone firing at just the right moment.
Answer to the Zitpicker’s Textbook…….. It depends on whether or not you are the one in the cuffs. In Naperville, it is very possible that the kid with the yellow eyebrows is the hit-and-run driver and the Zombie-cop wants to know about the car. Matter-of-fact, I’d expect that from Macy!
Snotpickers Grabbag - It’s a good idea to keep your eyes open when you’re driving.
BTW - How many people do you think know the “models” of all the cars? I thought it was the license plate you should try to see and remember. Yeah, my grandma can tell a Lexus from a Toyota any day.
Funny how Tess has this figured out in panel 3 but Tracy has to close his eyes and meditate on it through panels 5 and 6 before any light bulbs go off. They should give her the wrist radio and maybe this strip would start moving along.
yes, that cop in’ crimestoppers’ does look like one of Lichtenstien’s finest.— cute puffy hat and the other guy’s eyebrows are interesting–looks like they’ve been pasted on
Mrbribery - gee, I hope so, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
Ridenslide - you are correct. A physical description of the car would be nice, but the license plate number is more important.
I love the clown. As people scream around him, he’s gripped by ennui. “I thought murdering a woman in front of hundreds of people would be more fun than this. I’d take my leave, but I really can’t be bothered…”
Somebody stole my popcorn! I think the cop in Sharecropper’s Cookbook must have stashed it in his hat – it looks like a batch of freshly popped Jiffy-Pop™!
Todays strip is so bad not even Carlo Coratelli could defend it.
What a mess. Who would have thought to actually describe the vehincle in a hit and run accident! Think of all the crimes we’ll be solving now!
“Well, it wasnt a Ford, Honda, Toyota or GM. And it wasnt pink, green, yellow or blue. I don’t think it was a four-door, or a hatch-back. And it certainly wasnt a convertible, and I don’t think it had a sun-roof. I know it wasnt a new car but it wasnt really an old car, either. It didnt have a distinctive license plate, maybe it had some letters or numbers on it. I hope I helped some, officer!”
There is a certain inadvertent operatic quality to all this…like one of those things which some day will be latched onto as emblematic of some sort of High Art. In the here and not though it still seems pretty wanting.

Bonnie seems to have disappeared.
Mr. Ringo dyes his hair to match his eyes.
Since backup doesn’t show up when called what makes Tracy think the ambulance is showing up?
If a trapeze artist falls wouldn’t there be a commotion in the Big Top. Why is Tracy the ONLY one to do down and try and help the poor woman?

What’s the deal with the guy’s eyebrows in the Pitstopper’s Slimebook?

At least someone’s had a chance to clear up the blood between the first time and the second time. That or “She didn’t just fall… She was bounced.”

Shot dead or not, she managed to move her left arm between panel 1 and panel 5.

Tracy seems to have switched seats with Tess between panels 2 and 3. Maybe he wanted a better view.

And WAIT. WTF. Tess and Dick swap seats between two panels up there! That is just inexcusably lazy on the part of the cartoonist.
