Yes! A proper information booth! When I see that sign on a booth I like to go up to it and ask stuff like āWhatās the population of Albania?ā At the local farmerās market, the booth actually says āLost and Found Informationāā¦.. and if you knew me youād know I canāt always leave that alone.
On an entirely unrelated note, Iām not all that popular, for some reasonā¦.
Thanks all. I love information. :) I have to use that one, Binary.Forgot to mention that Iām amazed, X_tech ā you read the directions? But au contraire, gmartin ā I have always been very very polite. Very. Polite does not rule out insane.Umā¦ I mean inane. Erā¦..And Coyoty ā doesnāt the light bulb HELP you see them, especially when someone has an extra bright idea?
Thereās one in a similar vein (and even funnier IMHO) ā an old āBCā cartoon. Caveman at the patent office. He has a triangular wheel. Heās explaining to the patent examiner, āItās an improvement on the square wheel. One less corner.ā
I get the feeling that Susan, like me, made those phone calls long before caller ID had even been thought of. The āold daysā did have a few advantages.
@somebodyshort: I resent the suggestion that Iām not capable of asking for advice of my own free will. Your comment is a perfect example of the anti-male mindset that prevails wthin āNon Sequiturā and the majority of its fans.
Okay. She has an advantage. Sheās obviously from the future where there are wooden structures, door handles, paper, writing utensils, etc. etc. etc. And sheās probably thinking that men are such neanderthalsā¦ Is that a pyramid on the top of her booth?
āOogah Malook was a Neanderthal man,A very poorly educated soul.He had a block of marbleāthe edges were square,And in the center was a hole. One day he had to get from his cave in NatchezTo his uncleās cave in Mobile.I said āRound off those edges, and buy a set of tires,And Oogie, babyāthatās a wheel!ā
TexTech (any relation to X_tech? ā sounds like good names for twins!)I wasnāt going to mention it but you are quite right. Iām flattered that anyone might think there was caller ID when I was a kid! They didnāt even have mobile phones yet when I got old enough to drive a dinosaur.
Hi SusanSunshine, Are the people who work at the booth for your local farmersā market singers? Iāll bet theyād do a stellar rendition of āAmazing Graceā if you asked them. (Or theyād just sigh and roll their eyes at you.)
I, too, had a light-bulb moment recently.Unfortunately the bulb was a CFL bulb, and by the time it was fully lit I had forgotten the idea.I really gotta get some LEDs for those moments!++++++What was I just saying?
@Susan Sunshine- love your sense of humor and attitude. Itās almost as wierd as the one Iāve been honing for 66 years.@BMonk- perhaps youāve been misLED.@Hunter 7- itās an information booth, not a miracle kiosk (and I have NEVER owned an Apple product, so Iām not biased.)

See http://style.org/unladenswallow/ which actually does answer the swallow question, including for the African version. A wonderful page.

The nanny state at work. The Tea Party should close the information booth down as fast as possible before they create even more damage.
