Dogsniff ‘coined’ a good one, but I won’t mention it because he never responds to my positive comments about him.

Calvin is ‘no great shakes’ at performing magic.“You have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.”Hebrews 12:4

If this shaking happened to Calvin when he was a baby, he might have suffered serious consequences …repercussions, even (Snagglepuss)! Hmm, is it possible? That would explain any number of things about Calvin.

How can Hobbes shake Calvin so violently if Hobbes’ coming to life is just in Calvin’s imagination?

To quote an old country song: If my nose was full of nickels, I would blow it all on you…but it’s not.

@Lewreader,A compliment is a ceremonious expression of approbation, civility, or admiration; a flattering speech or attention. Dogsniff might seek compliments from every ‘quarter’, but his funny comments are not ‘a dime a dozen’. Nobody can say they are not worth a ‘plugged nickel’.

Lewreader said,“The man (Dogsniff) lies awake at night thinking of funny things then finding a comic to post them.” That line is hilarious; if it is true, Dogsniff must be an absolute genius. The average person (including me) generally tries to think of funny lines from the comic. That’s hard enough. Okay, that’s my two cents worth.

Ewww! That country song sounds a little ‘Ray C’, but we certainly won’t come to ‘blows’ over it. I’ll let it ‘blow’ over.Besides, some people might get a kick out of it. Who ‘nose’? :o)BTW, thanks for the ’koin’onia! (It’s Greek to me, too!)

wow! I guess that folks belief that Bill Waterson would create thousands of strips and destroy them immediately demonstrates that implausible things, said with sincerity are always to be believed. In truth, I sincerely state that each of those strips that Watterson allegedly destroyed, he in fact sent to me. I am in possession of thousands of unpublished C&H strips!!! LOL!!!!!

To all posters looking up to Dogsniffs great witI am just a poor Boston player who sits on the bench for 86 years. Then to the worlds surprise, we win twice as many Worlds Series as anyone this century. I’ll keep going to batting practice and hope to hit one or two out of the park.I must respect my worthy opponents.

Lots of back scratching going on today. With this much sucking up to each other, it kind of obvious some people need the approval of strangers to feel any worth. Is this a comic strip or a Dr. Feelgood psych session?

They are “emoticons.” Turn your head sideways to the left to look at them. The first one you asked about is a simple smiley face :) The second one is a winking smiley face ;-) They tell you what the writer is thinking. In these cases, the writer is laughing, smiling, joking, etc. Here is an explanation in Wikipedia:Emoticons
