Crystal: "Here's my poem for our song: "Tricky dick, icky sticky. Day-glo game show, accidental uh-oh. Lick up, pickup, lief's a kip up. No, no, no." Knute: "Great! And I made a beat" Knute: "Cool, huh?" Crystal: "Yes. If you enjoy boredom. And migraines" Knute: "These phones are amazing. You can even make calls"

Knute is easily impressed. Which may be why he hangs around Crystal …
jerrymeza about 13 years ago
Not good, Paul McCartney has a song that goes bi bop bi bop pop bi bop bi bop pop or something like that

Boredom and migraines?………..sounds like my job!

Where’s Cole Porter when we need him?
Sisyphos about 13 years ago
The beat Knute has laid down might give anyone a migraine. Maybe Crystal should handle both lyrics and music for “Casey,” and let Knute play with his new smartphone toy….

Nothing really interesting to say today, but I do like Crystal’s outfit.

life’s a kip up"… Sounds like someone is/was a gymnast.
x_Tech about 13 years ago
I think this song needs work… And lots of it.Or maybe I’m just old and the song will go viral.
Randyincv about 13 years ago
Sounds like Crystal has been listening to Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan.

The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls.
ComicLaff about 13 years ago
I can’t tell if Crystal is serious or not with those words. I know Knute is with that tune.

Why do you assume that it’s a rap?

21 seconds??? Greg’s best so far is the 3rd one, “woman is”

Read the poem to a B-Bop rhythm. It works. This is so stupid the thing is likely to be a major hit.
imbaldeagle about 13 years ago
I’ll try this once more – to get the spacing – then close it for the “seniors” who may remember.**
Hug the gal, raise her morale,`
Poke the dope, just say “Nope”,`Make her day, don’t delay,`Hope – always a slippery slope.~~Burma Shave

Greg is making us wait

When did they stop making phones that were for making & receiving calls? Seems like they do everything but that.
kenvilkid about 13 years ago
Maybe its just me, but Crystal’s poem is really pornographic. If I was Knute, I would have dropped the phone on the floor while I still in frame one. Shock and disbelief would be shown in frame two, and who knows what would frame three show - maybe a big banner of CENSORED across it.Holy Molely is he slow !!! Brad is MENSA material compared to Knute. Pitts-ville is sure chock full of disfunctional guys.

I wish both of them could change their emotional tone – that Knute could open his eyes and stop being so glib, that Crystal could lose the (dated) goth look and the superior attitude. Both need to grow up, each in a different way.
Knute’s (boring) mechanical rhythm is a drone, that provides a nice balance or anchor to Crystal’s random verse. But like their creative efforts, how I wish either of them would have something meaningful to say. They’re kind of in a big holding pattern until the masks come down.

Dennis, I too was surprised to see “kip up”, too…. I wonder if I can even do one anymore….
RinaFarina about 13 years ago
The only one I remember is:
In this world
Of tears and sin
Your head goes bald
But not your chin
Burma Shave!
RinaFarina about 13 years ago
Deep philosophy, there.
jerrymeza about 13 years ago
yes, thts the one
RinaFarina about 13 years ago
Sorry, it’s not “In this world”, it’s “In this vale”.

BTW, Obama is real, I have it on the best authority.
The Cubs, however, are fictitious. No team in real life could possibly be so relentless a bunch of losers. No wonder it’s such a fan – like really does call to like.
Mighty_Mouse about 13 years ago
Now now now, you’re not calling someone a coward are you?The pipes, the pipes …

Let’s get back to Toni and Brad!
mojitobaby about 13 years ago
As you said, sad and predictable, right down to the pouty reproaches. It’s soooo hard being an undeserving victim.
NightOwl19 about 13 years ago
Don’t forget – the words of the prophets were also written on the studio wall (and the concert hall)! (and echo with the sounds of salesmen!) (Gotta let Rush have the final word on the subject….)
flashman.ace about 13 years ago
Nothing’s really going on with “Juggie” either – certainly nothing new. It’s your old friend Professor Chaos who had so many objections to your name. Because he’s running scared, he just changed his log-in identity – all his old posts are overwritten to accomodate it. Basically, same old crap in a slightly newer wrapper. I’m not sure he does know it’s a comic – he’s been obsessively stalking whatever Luann board exists for years now, week in, week out, so the pitifully sad lack of perspective is one you can easily imagine. No wonder he can’t tell rap from a hole in the ground.
