And the truck and jacket are brown again. I also like how Tellum’s jacket turns red in the last panel. He was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans yesterday. Does the colorist even look at what colors Shane used? That is my only gripe with the strip.
I know not what your plan is, but I see a flawYou’re going to run afoul of ol’ John LawFor all of your posturing and your blusterYour actions are devoid of any lusterYou’re mixing a deadly brewOne that soon you will rueThese terrorists are surely deadNothing there for you to dreadBut could it be despite what you sayThey actually were in your pay?Their attacks and their hatingWill add to your Arbitron ratingWhen them you do denounceFor the freedoms they do trounceSo tell us Ted, what’s the buzz?Ere you’re pinched by the fuzz.A late thank you to, davidf42, BillT, woodworker318, JanCinVV, JoviusGm, neonleon59. And a belated Happy Birthday to neonleon59.Did anyone know Aug. 18th was bad poetry day? I coulda been a contender.
And thus, for the want of an early-morning jolt of strong black java, Ted talk-show host was lost…. He just is not thinking clearly and is headed for a heap o’ trouble, one way or another!
I’m beginning to wonder if the twist in plot development might be getting a little too challenging for young readers. True, Locher’s plots were assinine stupid, and inane. But weaving Ted Tellum into this thing might be a little much. I dunno.
My first reaction to today’s strip was surprise, because I was thinking along the same lines as many of you out there – that Morning Gloria rigged a bomb to cover her double murder, and to make it look like a bungled terrorist attempt on Tellum. But then it occurred to me – maybe Gloria doesn’t even know HOW to make a bomb – she just sells the fertilizer to people with enough money to meet her price. So, if that is the case, then she is stuck with two bodies, and must come up with some way to get rid of them – which she decided to do by involving Ted Tellum – but she DID leave her fingerprints all over everything in that van. Hmmm!
When Tellum first appeared, my first thought was Freddy Lounds from Thomas Harris’s Red Dragon. This whole “killer parking their van in his spot” scenario feels like more than just a cooincidence to me… ;)
Good point, sir. I had forgotten about that comment she made to the would-be fertilizer buyers. And, if she wants Tellum’s radio show for her plan, she would need to keep him alive.
Been on vacation for a fortnight, newspaper and internet free by choice. Wading through nearly 2,000 emails, I caught up on Dick Tracy with a strip every 15 minutes or so. What a delight! Great work.
Ted is a really stupid – but no more than the average radio rant jockey.I just wonder what’s going to happen before those bodies are found. And how Tellum’s goning to explain it all to Tracy…
Tellum doesn’t want this kind of publicity. And he may have soemthing else in his background that wouldn’t look good in a police investigation.Great poem WW as always. And I think it may be harder to come up with somethng now.
Wasn’t Ted Tellum’s radio studio by some frozen riveror something? That’s where he turned in some crooknamed Wormy who thought he could be a great singeron Tellum’s show. In the end he almost shot Tellum but gotoffed by Tracy.

WW—another good one. Keep up the good work. You don’t have to work as hard now that we have a decent strip.
