Freedom of religion MUST include freedom from religion for people who want freedom from religion. Some day loop jobs like you will realize this.

As a fairly liberal Christian who repeatedly deals with idiot fundamentalists, I can say without a doubt that this belief system already exists.

You already are a religion. It is called narcisism. The word even kind of sounds like a scented flower.

Unlike Republican economic policy? Like the “trickle down” theory? It has been tried and proven not to work. Somehow it still seems to be the mantra of the right. Cut taxes for the rich to save and create jobs. Bush slashed taxes ten years ago and unemployment is at its highest in years. Without taking Wiley’s comment to the political, it seems to me that his commentary on religion is concise and too close to home to be comfortable for those who have been led into the type of non-thinking that the commandments require.

All organized religions have as their primary motive control over their faithful. If these faithful came to realize that there is in fact no Heaven, no Olam HaEmet, no 72 virgins waiting for you, that what they have while living on this earth is all there is, then one would see a massive revolt against the poverty, hunger and want politicians and “spiritual” leaders foist upon them.

Hinduism actually has control over its faithful. It’s called the caste system. Follow your dharma and maybe, just maybe, your karma will allow you to reincarnate into a better caste in the next life. Fail to follow your dharma and you’ll end up being reincarnated into a lower caste, or even cast out—“outcast,” or “those outside the caste.”

Since religion is being broached…I will say – from my perspective – the door to Heaven is wide open to all who may choose to enter. Quibbling with the obvious and incontrovertible facts of life is a sign of the person’s individual bent to deny God’s existence and His Supremacy. Christ died to enforce the new Covenant and it’s re-organized Commandments (which are described by Grainbelt above). Thank you.Now, why can’t Danae just sell lemonade and play with dollies like the other girls?

First, and foremost – overarching all that I have read – I say, WOW!, really, over a COMIC STRIP?!?!?!? – WOW!

Second, I have to admit that I haven’t been able to read the daily comics in awhile so I didn’t know that the website address was featured on each of them. I thought it was for just this one to get some sort of feedback on this particular one…

Anyway, I’ve always wondered why believers in something can’t just accept the fact – the fact – that there will be non-believers in that thing and just leave them alone and move on. You know, like, “You believe? Cool. You don’t believe? Cool” – Why is it important that anyone else at all believe as you do? Ever? A person’s belief is theirs. Can’t that just be enough for ANYONE? Any of you? As I read all of these comments I was just wondering that….

I understand that the answer might be that if you believe in something which you have concluded is positive or worthwhile, you want others to enjoy it also so you’ll have some reasons why they should. But whan they don’t or won’t, can’t you just leave them along in their “ignorance”? I can, so what if they don’t go along with me? SO WHAT.?

So, since you’ve bugged your eyes out staring at this crazy long post, I’ll conclude with these:

1. Do you guys really not have any other arena to debate such issues? – IT IS A COMIC STRIP.

2. Dane has the right to to make the “Commandments” fit her Church’s agenda. That’d be their point.

3. The writer of “The Ten Commandments” (whomever you believe that to be or not be) was also trying to further a personal agenda. Who ever said it wasn’t so? In the human existance there’s always a personal agenda trying to be furthered. Always.

4. Don’t bother asking me what my views on religion or politics are – I won’t tell you. Frankly It’s none of your business and it never was.
