Love it! Now could someone summarize the final outcome of, say, the last three TJ schemes? I gather this will have a good outcome since the target is such a witch.

Send a thief to catch a thief, send a manipulator to trap another.

Butif it ends Bradley…er, badly, you can be sure TJ will disavow all knowledge of anything.

Oh Boy here we go with “STUPID TJ idea Number 9,798”.

Toni, BEFORE You COMMIT to this Madness, ask Yourself this:

    1) Are you gonna ‘Help’ Brad in THIS way EVERY time he gets a BAD Boss?

    and

    2) Are YOU prepared to support Brad financially when TJ’s Idiotic idea end up COSTING Brad his Job?

I like TJ…at least he’s not a free-loader, he always seems to be the one doing the cooking….and he’s not hitting on Toni, either. Maybe Ann Eiffle has finally met her match with TJ and Toni on Brad’s side.

OOOOO. What will TJ come up with this time? Although he’s got Toni’s attention, will his scheme hold her attention? But they both know Brad needs help because he is a bit too naive. For some reason, I think Brad will surprise us in the end.

TJ isn’t presenting a scheme, only pointing out a problem she may not be aware of – tho’ we don’t knoe that she is or isn’t…. I wouldn’t l like to be AE when Toni goes to work on her.

Dirk was portrayed as a Neanderthal (sp) - He wasn’t “jealous” as much as he was “posessive” of her...The Sexual Harassment Laws HAVE changed over the years. Men ARE now bringing charges and they ARE “sticking”!..True, in the past, it had been treated like a ‘good-ol-boy" issue (NOT a crime), but as a person who wnet through the manatory, 40 hours of “Company Required Training” (in 2002) … I can tell ya, when combined with ’violence in the work place, it’s being taken as a MORE SERIOUS situation!

It’s not like Brad needs to be employed at WW the rest of his life. But are TJ and Toni going behind his back to screw up his job there? Has Ann actually done anything yet that can be considered harassment? Oh well – I guess it’s about time to see another one of TJ’s schemes completely go wrong.

just once, i’d like to see one of tj’s schemes work out. from time to time, they do. when the degroots first bought the house where brad and tj live, don’t forget, tj knocked out part of a wall and made an archway and the parents loved it. and no, toni was not sitting on tj’s lap. she’s wearing a black shirt and he’s wearing black pants and has his leg crossed. in two dimensions, the images overlap. if this were three dimensions, you’d be aware of the space.they need to enlist bernice in this…she’d be an excellent witness to eiffel’s past indiscretions.

I lose respect for Toni every time she seems to be in favor of a TJ scheme. By now, doesn’t she realize how they all turn out? And how stupid they were to begin with?

Also, does Toni even realize that Ann has designs on her man? And if she doesn’t, why bother with screwing up Brads only job where the building is within walking distance of his house? Do Toni and TJ think that Ann is the worst boss ever? As far as fast food goes, she’s perfect.

here’s the fight scene you won’t see on the regular strip, but which greg kindly drew on his cartoonist studio blog:

Speaking of manipulation….Jones is a troll who’s been stalking this strip for years so of course he knows who Ann Eiffel is. He deliberately puts out comments that are 180 out from what Greg’s intentions are, in the hope that you’ll bite.

His purpose is to incite, so don’t bite.

Just as Tiffany is the actual “misunderstood” selfless heroine of “Luann”, Jones will tell you that Ann’s the victim here – she’s a poor misunderstood woman who’s only trying to do her job and having to cope with with an ungrateful employee and his meddling friends.

I’m a little confused about how Toni is going to “knock Ann off of her broom”. She doesn’t work for the same company. Ann is smart enough to know who is around and who can see when she plays her hand. All they know about her is impressions they get from the work environment. They believe that she is nasty and bossy. I’ve never worked in a fast food resturaunt. Isn’t that the way all ff managers are? What has transpired in her office has remained untold. I believe that all of the hidden meanings in the words Brad heard Ann say he believe are his misunderstanding of what she intended.

I’m also confused by Brads impression of Ann. He also believes she is nasty and bossy. Yet, lately, every time she calls him into the office she appears to be sweet and supportive of his future with WW. Naturally, if he was called back to the fire department, he would go. She knows it and he knows it. Doesn’t matter what each of them say. So where does Brad get his impression that she is evil?

I thought Brad got rid of that shirt (the only one he ever wore for several years in this strip) and had some variety in his wardrobe now, but I guess we’re back to the old look again. Sure wish he’d get a respectable haircut at some point. He had a dream scene once awhile back in which he imagined himself as being a dashing individual so Tony would want him—his hair was parted…looked pretty good!

It is a relief to see that Toni is still committed to being Brad’s girlfriend. The last time we saw Toni was at WW and Brad threw her under the bus trying to please his boss. Wasn’t sure whether Toni would take a step back from him after that. Brad definitely needs Toni in his life, to counter the influence of TJ. Last time Toni agreed to a TJ scheme it was to convince Dirk she didn’t live at her house, and she ended up having to directly confront Dirk when that scheme failed.

For some reason, I think TJ and Ann Eiffel would be perfect for each other. They’re both single and schemers, and TJ is too wise to be let Ann get away with anything. Maybe they’ll end up together when all’s said and done?

I so agree! Ann needs a victim to dominate, TJ is far too savvy to be manipulated by her. This is also why two abusive personalities rarely hook up – abusers need victims to feed their needs, not another “kindred spirit” abuser to roll with.

“When the Army’s harassment claim line opened up in the mid 1990s, for example, of 5000+ claims in the first week, fewer than 100 had any merit.”….was this based on the Army opinion rather than actual facts? I wonder how many valid claims were thrown out as “not having merit”
