It’s a joke, Big G. Comic strips are where one goes to find jokes.

I loved “MAD” when Harvey Kurtzman was doing it before Gaines took over. Pure anarchy, breaking through the borders, running riot over the pages. Gaines put everything in seperate boxes. Not that it wasn’t still funny, but sometimes his agendas over rode the humor.

It doesn’t show who is reading MAD magazine. Could it be Adam? Maybe we’ll find out tomorrow.

In real life, if an employee was to do that in ANY workplace in public, they’d get in trouble with their bosses and would most likely get fired, or at least written up.

I think most realize a comic is a comic, and not real life. As Funky Winkerbean once said, “I wonder what’s going to happen tomorrow?”

I agree with Susan Newman. I quit reading it after Bill Gaines died for the same reason.

I read Mad when it was still a comic book, then for a few more years after that. Haven’t seen one in a few decades. May be time to pick up a copy, but is the beret mandatory?

Back in the ’50s my dad would let us read Mad…After he was finished with it, had to make sure it was suitable for us kids.

Actually, do any of the new younger crowd bother with Mad? I thought they were all into other things. Which would mean that MOST of the readers are “of a certain age.”

I not only remember all the great old MAD artists, I knew (slightly) the best artist ever to draw Alfred E. Newman: Kelly Freas. He was one of the great ones.

I have been reading MAD MAGAZINE since mid-1970s. I think it is still funny even after all these years. The first one I ever read had “All In The Family” on the cover, and it had a vinyl record you can play.

The way I took the strip, I expected the creepy guy was looking at Penthouse or something, then they turn it on us and it is MAD he’s reading.
