Funny thing – I enjoyed the book. It was not required reading in my High School, but I read it by choice just a few years ago. I expected it to be a baseball story and was disappointed to find out that it wasn’t. But it was a good story, IMHO, and I liked it.

I thought it was a decent story, but always wondered if J.D. Salinger was a recluse for a reason, other than wanting his privacy.

Didn’t Bob Uecker call his biography “Catcher in the Wry”?
